WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!?

    DIG:2003 #95
A skeleton in the bowl hole graveyard

What this skeleton told us: Evidence

An older woman, but a relatively poorly preserved skeleton. Osteoarthritis was present in both hip joints. Tooth root decay was seen on one left lower molar tooth.

    Interpretation of the evidence

Her osteoarthritis suggests she was of some age when she died, which likely caused pain and stiffness in her hips. The root decay could have been uncomfortable and painful, and this decay could indicate sugar in her diet.
